China-based TV manufacturer TCL Corporation (www.tcl.com) unveiled, in co-operation with QD Vision (www.qdvision.com), a 55 inch 4K UHD Television device utilizing Quantum Dots at IFA 2014, a leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, currently being held in Berlin, Germany (September 05 to 10, 2014). The company plan to take the TVs market in 2015, priced at around US$2,585. At the same trade show, Chinese TV company Hisense also introduced a quantum dot TV, “ULED TV.”
TCL are using IQ technology from QD Vision which delivers 100 percent NTSC color gamut performance that establishes a new standard of colour performance with LCD technology. TCl also unveiled the world’s largest curved TV UHD TV, measuring 110 inches. The previous largest screens, produced by Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics come in at 105 inches.
