Single wall carbon nanotubes plant
OCSiAl is planning to build the world’s largest single wall carbon nanotube production facility in Israel. The company announced that the plant would produce up to 50 tons of Single Wall Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNTs) a year.
The location will be southern Israel with an investment of $30 million.
OCSiAl intends to employ around 30 workers.
The plant would be able to produce up to 50 tons of single wall carbon nanotubes per year, making it among the world’s largest facilities for the manufacture of this product.
OCSiAl is headquartered in Luxemburg and has operations in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea and Russia.
OCSiAl is an international technology firm with operations in USA, UK, Germany, Russia, South Korea and headquarters in Luxembourg. Along with Tuball, the raw ‘as produced’ single wall (SWCNT) material, OCSiAl also offers specially purified (up to 99% of SWCNT) and modified nanotubes and master batches. Having already stockpiled a large reserve of carbon nanotubes, OCSiAl has many international partners for joint product development and has signed, or is about to sign, such agreements with some well-established design and technology firms.
Estimated production of the SWCNTs is 1 ton for the first year, which doubles current global production levels according to different estimates. Potential annual capacity of OCSiAl production is currently 10 tonnes. This method is easily scalable and capable of producing an unlimited quantity of SWCNTs at a very low cost. With this production volume and ultimately the quality of the end product, OCSiAl technology is poised to improve many of the products the world relies on, from better batteries to more durable tyres.
