DESCRIPTION
Cerium oxide (ceria) nanoparticles (Nanoceria/CeO2-NPs) are widely researched for their current and potential use in catalytic, energy, environment protection and biomedical applications. Desirable properties of CeO2-NPs include:
- Unique redox properties as oxygen vectors. They can destroy or generate Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) depending on the chemical conditions and their structure.
- Ability to act as a catalyst for both oxidation and reduction reactions
- High ionic conductivity
- UV-filtering.
